Surrey Police Service (SPS) is investigating a motor vehicle collision involving a large commercial truck and a passenger vehicle that has sent one person to hospital with injuries.

On April 18, 2026, at approximately 10:35 am, SPS received reports of a multi-vehicle collision between a large five tonne commercial vehicle and a passenger vehicle at the intersection of Highway 10 (56 Avenue) and 192 Street. SPS members attended the scene along with Surrey Fire Service (SFS) and BCEHS.

SFS firefighters used the Jaws of Life to extract the driver of the passenger vehicle, who was the only occupant of the passenger vehicle. The driver, an adult male, was transported to hospital with reportedly serious but not life-threatening injuries. The driver of the commercial vehicle was not injured and remained on scene.

SPS’s Collision Investigation Unit (CIU) has taken over the investigation and the cause of the collision is under investigation.

Highway 10 at 192 Street will have lane closures into the afternoon as investigators examine the collision scene for evidence.

SPS is asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who may have dashcam footage, to contact the SPS non-emergency line at 604-599-0502 and quote file number 26-36674 (SP).
