Surrey Police Service (SPS) is investigating a fatal collision involving a vehicle and a young child pedestrian.

At approximately 8:17 pm on July 13, 2025, SPS Frontline officers responded to calls of a collision between a vehicle and a young child pedestrian in the 13800 block 64 Avenue, Surrey. When officers arrived, BCEHS paramedics were administering life-saving medical intervention to a young child, but the child died. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. 

SPS’s Collision Investigation Unit (CIU) has taken over the investigation and the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) has been called in to assist. The cause of the collision remains under investigation. 

Motorists are advised that the roads and intersections in the vicinity of the 13800 block 64 Avenue are likely to be closed for a significant portion of the night as officers begin their investigation.
