Sexual Assault Charges Laid Against Surrey Man

The RCMP Surrey Provincial Operations Support Unit Vulnerable Persons Unit is investigating allegations of sexual assault and sexual exploitation, which has resulted in the arrest and charges laid against one man.
In the fall of 2024, RCMP SPOSU investigators responded to allegations of a sexual assault between an adult man and a youth. The man is alleged to have entered a relationship with the youth upon meeting the youth while providing supports at a local area high school. The offense is alleged to have occurred in 2024.
Henry Roger Lorteau has been arrested and charged in relation to this investigation:
- 1 count of sexual assault, contrary to Sec. 271 of the Criminal Code
- 2 counts of sexual exploitation, contrary to Sections 153(1)(a) and 153(1)(b) of the Criminal Code
Investigators are notifying the public about this case and are requesting anyone who may have additional information to contact SPS non-emergency line at 604-599-0502 and quote file number 24-154899 (SU).
Henry Lorteau was released from custody with bail conditions until his next court appearance on May 23, 2025.
The victim’s name and identity are covered by a publication ban under section 486.4(2) of the Criminal Code.
