*UPDATE: Highway 17 has been reopened to the public*

Surrey Police Service is advising motorists that a two-car collision has temporarily closed Highway 17 in the 13600 block on the morning of February 1, 2025.

Shortly before 6 am, Surrey Police Service Frontline officers responded to a report from BC EHS of a two-car collision in the 13600 block of Highway 17. Initial reports were that the driver of at least one of the vehicles was trapped inside and was being extricated by Surrey Fire Service.

At this stage, injuries to are reported to be serious, but not life threatening to both drivers, the only occupants of the vehicles. The investigation is in its early stages and the cause of the collision is unknown.

Highway 17 is expected to reopen by 9 am.
