On November 18, 2025, Surrey Police Service (SPS) issued a news release requesting the assistance of the public in locating a missing 84-year-old male Won Kil Kim. 

Through investigation, it has been determined that Kim’s last known location was in North Vancouver. North Vancouver RCMP has now assumed conduct of the investigation.

He is described as a male, Korean, 5’ 5”, 140 lbs.  (Please see attached photo). It is unknown at this time what he was wearing but he may be carrying two hiking poles.  Police and family are very concerned and are requesting assistance from the public, media and social media to assist in locating him. 

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Won Kil Kim is asked to contact the North Vancouver RCMP at 604-985-1311 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, and quote file number 2025-24204 (North Vancouver RCMP).
